Men's Singles
Swiss favourite, Roger Federer became the 2007 Australian Open tennis winner in the men's singles category when he defeated Chilean Fernando Gonzalez in 3 sets. The number one seed and defending champion dished up some controlled tennis to take out the 10th seed in just over 2 hours and 20 minutes. Although Gonzalez was more successful with his first serve - 61% compared to Federer's 58% - he made 28 unforced errors in the game, allowing the Swiss machine to take the game 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, 6-4.
Women's Singles
Unseeded American, Serena Williams , crushed the number one seed, Maria Sharapova, in straight sets to take the 2007 Australian Open women's singles title. Williams outgunned the Russian with 7 aces to 3 and easily 6-1, 6-2. Sharapova did not help her chances of lifting the title with her 6 double faults in the match.
Men's Doubles
The Bryan Brothers added a second Australian Open doubles title to their career statistics with a 7-5, 7-5 win over Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Max Mirnyi of Bulgaria. Although the game was closely contested, the 2007 Australian Open Tennis winners managed to defend their title admirably in just over one-and-a-half hours. They served no double faults and had an 85% success rate with their first serve.

The all-African pairing of Zimbabwean Cara Black and South African Liezel Huber defeated the Chinese Taipei duo of Yung-Jan Chung and Chia-Jung Chuang 6-4, 6-7(4-7), 6-1 to claim their first Australian Open Women's doubles title.
